Silkeborg Region
Silkeborg is a fantastic city with a population of 43,000 people. There are lots of things to do in and around Silkeborg and this area has more lakes than any other area.

There is an Outdoor Sports and Fishing Tackle shop in Silkeborg. If you can locate the Shell Garage near the Marina then the shop is on the other side of the junction. It is not though like a UK tackle shop, but you could find essentials. It caters more for Fly and Pike fishing.

Why not rent a canoe from the centre of Silkeborg and travel down the Guden locating likely fishing spots?
The vast majority of these lakes are linked by the Guden river. As such water levels can be affected.

While in Silkeborg do not forget to visit the Aqua Center. There are some amazing fish to be seen here. Enormous Bream, truly huge Roach and Rudd and very large Pike. It is a godd experience to see such large fish close up in natural surrundings.

Starting in the centre of Silkeborg is Silkeborg Langs0. This is 3 lakes separated by road bridges. The middle lake has the fountains on the city side and the island and graveyard stretches at the top end. This lake is the main fishing in the centre of Silkeborg. There are various good fishing locations on this lake shown on the maps. The lake to the right of the city centre road bridge has fishing only on the city centre side as shown.
The 52 road splits the town centre top lake from Centre Lake.

Once you leave Silkeborg to the East you see the Guden change shape from large lakes to a narrower river and a series of smaller lakes. Both the river and smaller lakes offer some fantastic fishing. If you have never explored the area before then a walk along the river could show some likely looking spots from the 15 road down stream past Resenbro. Look for the far bank slacks for the Bream.
On the maps I have provided I have tried to show some of the best fishing spots.

The lakes upstream of Silkeborg to the South are largely un-fished by coarse fisherman and as such we know little about them.
Moss0. This is the largest lake in the area. As such locating the fish can be a problem. As per the maps the only location that has approved fishing is in the North West of the lake. The lake is deep in the West and Shallow in the East. This could be one of the locations where effort could pay big rewards. Good parking is available and the banks look quite good for a good days sport. The Guden exits this lake from this area so some exploring could be well worthwhile.

Similarly other lakes Brass0, Juls0, Thors0 and the may other lakes could well produce well. I have not been able to gather much information on these lakes, as they are not well known to the visiting UK anglers. They all have areas where fishing is allowed as per the maps.
